MS.CHALANE DOUMAN, PHD (DR. CHICHI LION)

Executive Summary: Ms. Chalane Douman, QBE, PHD

A distinguished professional with a diverse career in academia, healthcare, and community development. As a seasoned educator and mental health advocate, she has made significant contributions to her field through research, leadership, and service.

With an honorary PhD and currently pursuing a master’s degree in Psychology, she has specialized training in trauma-informed care. Her expertise spans mental health advocacy, counseling, and organizational leadership, and she is known for her efforts in mental health policy reform, particularly in addressing issues such as PTSD, anxiety, and depression. Her innovative approaches to psychological well-being have made her a sought-after leader in the mental health space.

Chalane, has held several prominent roles in academia, where she designed and led educational programs focused on mental health awareness and resilience-building. Her research, particularly in underrepresented communities, has been recognized for its impact on improving access to mental health resources.

In addition to her academic work, she is a dynamic speaker and advocate for mental health. She regularly delivers workshops and presentations on emotional well-being and coping strategies. Through partnerships with various organizations, she has promoted mental health literacy and been a driving force behind community outreach programs, with the aim of reducing the stigma surrounding mental illness.

Chalane is currently collaborating with the Just in Time Foundation and InspireMind Global to expand mental health initiatives for underserved populations. She is leading a business proposal that seeks $15 million in funding to support the implementation of mental health programs, educational resources, and outreach strategies. This collaboration aims to build mental health resilience and drive sustainable change at both community and policy levels.

She has a dedication to improving mental health care systems and her commitment to public health education have established her as a transformative leader. Her compassionate approach and innovative strategies continue to create lasting, meaningful impacts in communities and beyond.

MRS. LEBOHANG PODI (FORMERLY MISS. LEBOHANG SEGODI)

Executive Director, Head of Transformation for Chichi Lion Foundation, Mrs. Lebohang Podi is an accomplished entrepreneur and leader with excellent communication and interpersonal skills. Her impeccable analytical abilities, attention to detail, and accuracy drive her passion for transforming South Africa into a post-apartheid society.

Mrs. Podi understands that the effects of the apartheid regime are generational, perpetuating cycles of poverty. To combat this, she focuses on ensuring business compliance with the Broad-Based Black Economic Empowerment (B-BBEE) legislature.

With extensive expertise as a Property Practitioner, fueled by her deep passion for real estate, Mrs. Podi co-founded The LL Estates. She is committed to creating economic opportunities for future leaders across the African continent and beyond, demonstrated by her adherence to B-BBEE regulations and her impressive success rate.

As the founder of Le Clique and a dedicated champion of Broad-Based Black Economic Empowerment, Mrs. Lebohang Podi commands respect in all her endeavors. She stands firm in her mission to generate multiple streams of economic opportunity for the people of South Africa, the African continent, and the world.

MR. THABISO MADIBA CA (SA)

The Strategic Head for Chichi Lion Foundation, who is decorated and coveted in his field. Mr. Thabiso Madiba CA (SA) is an accomplished entrepreneur with years of experience making strides both in business and education. He is passionate about developing and mentoring future leaders on the continent of Africa and globally.

Mr. Thabiso Madiba is also a Financial Management Lecturer at the University of Johannesburg, supervising Tax Master’s students, and an Audit Partner at Barakabora Assurance. He is a Director of Barakabora Consulting, CA Succeed Training (Pty) Ltd, and the Trevor Noah Foundation. He is a Trustee of the University of Johannesburg’s Provident Fund.

He serves on the board of Peermont Global (Free State), the SAGA Collecting Society NPC, and is a trustee of Nal’ibali. Additionally, he is on the King Edward VII School’s SGB and was a SAICA Training Office Reviewer for 10 years.

Mr. Thabiso Madiba CA (SA) possesses expert technical knowledge in tax, strategy, risk management, and financial management. As an academic, he effectively communicates complex technical financial terms. He is passionate about empowering those who are previously disadvantaged. Mr. Thabiso Madiba has successfully supervised three taxation master’s students at the University of Johannesburg and is currently supervising three more.
